I was looking at the design and it is remarkably similar to the skeleton slot which also is a rectangular loop but the skeleton slot is fed in the middle of each of the long sides, while the hentenna is tapped closer to one end. I am looking to put up a hentenna on 6 meters.
The D2T AAntenna compared it with my skeleton slot antenna, which is an elongated loop, as described in The Antenna Experimenter’s Guide (1). Here is a close up of the 2metre driven element, which is the actual skeleton slot. It is (a little less than) 5/8 wavelength in the direction perpendicular to the radiation polarization, and about 0.2 wavelength for the driven element part of each yagi. This sets the spacing between the two yagis at 5/8 wavelength too.
